چکیده

Purpose Argan nutshell wood (ANW) has been used in this study as an agricultural solid waste to remove Congo red (CR) from aqueous solution single and mixture binary the presence of methylene blue (MB) or crystal violet (CV). Design/methodology/approach The ANW was characterized by Fourier transform infrared scanning electron microscope analysis. effect dose (8–40 gL −1 ), contact time (0–180 min), pH (4–11) CR dye concentration (100–500 mgL ) on adsorption studied batch mode evaluated kinetic isotherm models a system. In system, removal + MB CV with different percentages dyes, ranging 0% 100%. Findings pseudo-second-order Langmuir could best describe sorption onto addition, case there is appearance synergistic phenomenon between other cationic dyes capacity increased until 12.24 mg g-1 12.06 mixture, respectively. Practical implications This demonstrated that prepared can be suggested excellent potential adsorbent wastewaters systems. Originality/value original.

Removal of Congo red from aqueous solutions using nano-Chitosan

It is now recognized that adsorption using low-cost adsorbents is an effective and economic method for water decontamination. Chitosan is derived by deacetylation of the naturally occurring biopolymer chitin which is the second most abundant polysaccharide in the world after cellulose. In this study, the capacity of the chitosan nanoparticles was studied for the removal of the anionic Congo red...
